“Mental health matters.”

The teleconsultation services of the Angat Buhay non-government organization announced that its free mental health services are now available to the public.

Bayanihan E-Konsulta (BEK) on Thursday said that the public can avail the teleconsultation services concerning their mental health beginning October 28.

Medical teleconsultations with COVID-19 patients, general check-ups and other concerns will continue.

“LIBRE po ito sa publiko. Sa tulong ng ating volunteers, mas madali nating naipapaabot ang mga serbisyong ito,” BEK said.

Those who are interested can contact its Facebook page.

Last Monday, BEK invited mental health professionals to volunteer for them to be able to give emotional, psychological and social support to Filipinos.

BEK is a previous initiative during former vice president Leni Robredo‘s term as part of her office’s COVID-19 response efforts.

It has since reopened under her NGO where it continues to offer teleconsultation services.

Last year, the Department of Health said that at least 3.6 million Filipinos were battling mental health issues such as bipolar disorder, depression and alcohol-use disorders.
