Some students and faculty members of a school in Quezon province repurposed household items and everyday things in the most creative ways for their student body’s “No Bag Day Challenge.”
The student government of St. Joseph Academy of Sariaya, Quezon (SJASQ) on September 12 uploaded pictures of their community carrying an ice chest, bayongs, a microwave, a pet cage and a sack, among others, as alternatives for their bag.
The post expectedly went viral, earning 6,500 laughing and love reactions and over 11,000 shares on the social networking platform.
The student body said the activity aims to showcase the community’s “creativity and uniqueness.”
“As a part of the season of creation celebration, Josephinians brought unusual bags to carry their books, portfolios, and food. This season of creation is a season to remember!” it added.
“The Season of Creation’s main purpose is for humankind to celebrate God’s wonderful gift of creation which is all around us, with the hope that as we celebrate, we will also be reminded to take good care of it, of Mother Earth, our world which is our only home,” the student body said in another post.
“Anything can be something when we sprinkle a little of our creativity on it,” it continued.

The Dipaculao National High School in the province of Aurora also held its own “No Bag Day Challenge” as part of the school’s 53rd founding anniversary.
“We challenge the creativity and resourcefulness of Batang Dipac High. NO BAG? NO PROBLEM,” it said on September 13.
“Maparaan at malikhain ang Batang Dipac High. Bukas ay maaaring magdala ng ‘UNUSUAL BAGS’ o kakaibang bag na maaaring paglagyan ng mga libro, papel, at pagkain,” the school added.
“Bukod sa kasiyahan ay maikikintal sa isipan ng bawat isa na hindi hadlang ang isang bagay na wala upang makapag-aral. Sabi nga’y kung gusto maraming paraan. Salamat sa mga mag-aaral na nakiisa sa gawaing ito,” the school said.
