Filipino skateboarder Margielyn Didal finished in seventh place at the Women’s Street Skateboarding finals in Tokyo Olympics on Monday at Ariake Park Skateboarding.

The 22-year-old Cebuana ranked third in the overall performance in the preliminaries having a score of 12.02, and seventh during finals with a total score of 7.52.

Both local and international online communities were quick to notice Didal’s carefree and fun attitude as she seems to be really enjoying the competition.
The official Twitter account of Tokyo 2020 Olympics also dubbed her thumbs-up pose as Margielyn’s official “seal of approval.”

“It’s her olympic debut but she’s manifesting the core of sports platforms. Sports should be enjoyed by the athletes more than anything else,” Twitter user said.
“She’s just a happy pill. Imagine having fun and making it to the finals in the Olympics at the same time,” another user wrote.
“We all need to be like #MargielynDidal, despite the pressure and difficulties in life, let’s just go with the flow, have fun with it and be positive. Damn, I admire her vibes and outlook. #Tokyo2020 #skateboarding #TeamPhilippines,” Filipino user said.
In a Facebook post uploaded on SkatePilipinas, Didal said she was “hyped” to make it to the finals and whatever the result is, she is proud to be a Filipino.
Nishiya Momiji from Japan won the gold medal for Women’s Street Skateboarding with a total score of 15.26, followed by Rayssa Leal from Brazil who scored 14.64, and Nakayama Funa from Japan with 14.49.
