‘Never the same’: Netizens miss Steve Harvey’s Miss Universe pageant hosting

Controversial host Steve Harvey made online buzz on Monday morning amid the Miss Universe finals night.

His name is one of the top trending topics on Twitter Philippines as users remember his pageant hosting.

Emmy Award-winning comedian Steve is not hosting the 69th Miss Universe coronation night.

The pageant finals is hosted by Emmy-winner Mario Lopez and Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo. Lopez also hosts NBC’s “Access Hollywood”.

Some online users then compared this year’s hosting with the past pageant hosting of Steve.

Olivia likewise trended on Twitter as some perceived she “lacks energy” in hosting.

Some posted memes mocking Olivia’s energy.

Some said no one still beats Steve’s lively hosting and expressed how they miss the “Family Feud” host.

No offense, Miss Universe will be never the same without Steve Harvey,” a Twitter user said.

“Sorry but Steve Harvey is the best Miss Universe host ever!” a another Twitter user said.

“No hate but the hosts are boring, Steve Harvey where?” a user tweeted. 

Some Twitter users said they need Steve to host the ongoing pageant now.

In 2015, Steve made it to the headlines after he mistakenly announced Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as the winner during the Miss Universe 2015 coronation night.

Steve also hosted the Miss Universe 2016 which was staged in the Philippines in January 2017.

He likewise hosted the Miss Universe finals in Thailand in December 2018 when Catriona Gray was crowned the winner.
