An old Instagram post of YouTube star Camille Trinidad landed on an international grammar Facebook page over the weekend.

Called The Language Nerds, it posted a screenshot of Trinidad’s photo with boyfriend and fellow YouTube content creator Jayzam Manabat. This photo was initially uploaded on Oct. 15, 2020.

The caption was: “I’d rather have bad times with you, then good times with anyone else.”

It was in reference to the hit 2001 song “I’d Rather” by Luther Vandross.

However, there was a small error in the lyric quoted in the caption. The line was supposed to be: “I’d rather have bad times with you, than good times with anyone else.”

The popular language page then captioned its post: “That’s why grammar is very important.”

The minor gaffe in the caption had since been edited.

The Language Nerds boasts of over two million followers on Facebook. It also has a website where it describes itself as a community or place for language enthusiasts.

“We strive to keep people with a passion for language entertained and informed. We strive as much to bring together people from different parts of the world and from different walks of life so they can share their language knowledge with the rest of the community,” the website’s description read.

Its post on the YouTube content creator earned 5,700 shares and more than 51,000 reactions.

In the comments section, both Filipino and foreign social media users also expressed how amused they were with how the small grammar error affected the entire caption.

“If it was exactly what she meant to say, then nothing wrong with her sentence. Well, grammatically-wise of course. Beyond that, not for me to judge,” one user said.

“She meant it! She even prefaced it with a comma, which makes the punctuation correct, too!” another user wrote.

Others quipped that it’s alright to experience both “good and bad times” and also recognize spelling mistakes.

“After the good times and the bad times, then she better figure out the difference between then and than,” one user said.

Some Filipinos related it to the cheating controversy faced by Trinidad and Manabat, known as “JaMill” last month.

“What makes it even funnier is that they’re known vloggers in the Philippines with 10 million subs or more. And the guy cheated on her. So this is in a way true but for the guy,” one user said.

JaMill’s official YouTube channel has more than 12.4 million subscribers so far.

Last April, Trinidad accused Manabat of cheating on her through her Facebook account. These posts had since been deleted followed by a series of cryptic tweets.

The issue eventually became a hot topic in an episode of Raffy Tulfo’s “Wanted sa Radyo” on April 20.

Manabat admitted cheating on his partner and has since apologized.
