Barangay Ginebra head coach Time Cone has been invited to join the coaching staff of the Miami Heat for the 2022 NBA Summer League.
In a snippet interview posted by OneSports on Twitter on Wednesday, the two-time grand slam coach revealed that he was invited by the Florida-based team as a “guest coach” and will work as an assistant coach to Malik Allen.
“This is very humbling for me and I am willing to go in there and do whatever it takes,” he said in an interview released by OneSports.
The news broke a day after Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes announced Cone’s new involvement in the national team.
Assistant coach Richard del Rosario will take over the Gin Kings in the meantime as Cone will miss their games against Converge, Terrafirma, Meralco, and TNT.
Cone will return for Ginebra’s final two games of the eliminations in the matches against, Northport Batang Pier and Phoenix Super LPG.
