Tim Cone is no stranger to playing games after a long layoff.

After winning their Christmas Day encounter with the Magnolia Chicken Hotshots, the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings will get back in action in two weeks against GlobalPort on Sunday.

But that doesn’t bother the champion coach.

“Another long break to overcome. We’re thankful for it, but still, it is always hard to stay sharp through it,” Cone said.

The Gin Kings will be coming out missing the services of three key players – Joe Devance, Sol Mercado and Art dela Cruz – but Cone remains upbeat of his team’s chances.

“We’re prepared to play without them and feel good about the way we have practiced through the break,” added Cone.

“GlobalPort has always been a tough match up for us because of the quickness of (Stanley) Pringle and (Terrence) Romeo. We’ll need to do a good job of containing them.”
