It didn’t take long for Kiefer Ravena to make his presence felt in the PBA.
Just in his debut game, the second-generation cager immediately made his mark for the NLEX Road Warriors, flirting with a triple-double to help his squad to a 119-115 triumph over Kia Picanto.
Ravena, son of former PBA Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Player Bong Ravena, finished with 18 points, 12 assists, seven rebounds and two steals, enough for him to receive an A-grade from coach Yeng Guiao.
“I expected him to make an immediate impact, but I never expected him to come up with a near triple-double, which is really impressive for a debuting player,” said Guiao.
Ravena allowed Guiao to give many dimensions to his backcourt rotation whether he’s playing the 1 or 2 position.
“He gives us a lot of looks whether he plays the big guard or a point guard. He’s a rookie who plays like a veteran. You don’t see him panic or tense. He just played composed basketball,” Guiao added.
Ravena’s impressive debut also rubbed off on the rest of the guards. Kevin Alas scored 14 points while Juami Tiongson contributed 11 markers off the bench.
