The NLEX Road Warriors already have a guard-heavy rotation, but that didn’t stop coach Yeng Guiao from drafting another ballhandler in Kiefer Ravena who was arguably the best guard in this year’s batch of incoming rookies.

The No.2 pick will now be teaming up with rising NLEX guard Kevin Alas in the more-deadly NLEX backcourt which also consists of Carlo Lastimosa, Juami Tiongson, Eman Monfort and Alex Mallari.

Despite facing a dilemma on how he will spread the minutes for his guards, Guiao said he’s excited to see his new backcourt duo on the court.

“K and K tandem. They are the future of NLEX,” Guiao told InterAksyon. “This is an exciting combination.

“I will find a way to mix the guards in the rotation. Thats a good problem for me.”

For his part, Ravena is looking forward to playing under Guiao.

“I’m excited because we saw how NLEX made a good finish in the third conference and I hope to contribute to make the team better,” Ravena said. “Also, it’s a good chance for me to grow and learn more under Coach Yeng.”
