Filipino boxer Jeffrey Claro died on Sunday morning at Ospital ng Maynila after collapsing during a sparring session. He was 20.
Claro had just celebrated his birthday last October 18. He had been preparing for a fight in November before the tragic incident that happened last Friday in Mandaluyong.
According to the Games and Amusements Board, Claro was among the boxers who had submitted a falsified CT scan to the organization.
While his license was not revoked, he had been banned from professional fights. He had been given a green light after submitting a new CT scan.
Claro’s remains will lie in state in Pasay before being brought to his province.
