Legendary Spanish star Pau Gasol just made history on Friday after becoming the all-time leading scorer of FIBA EuroBasket.
His three-pointer in the second quarter against Hungary gave him 1,032 career points to overtake San Antonio Spurs teammate Tony Parker of France for the No.1 spot.

“For sure, that was something that was on my mind and I wanted to get it over with, get it off the table. So now we can prepare, there’s no other talks about anything individual here,” said Gasol who led his squad to a five-game sweep of the group stages.
“We come as a team, our success is going to be based on how well we play together, how well we focus on the upcoming games, which are the most important ones. In the group, you lose, then you can come back and maybe finish first or second or finish high, but now, it’s a win-or-go-home type of thing.”
Now 37, Gasol is still putting up impressive numbers for Spain despite his age. He is averaging 16.8 points and 8.8 rebounds to lead his team in those departments.
