After more than seven years since last coaching the Alaska Aces, multi-titled mentor Tim Cone’s feelings about his former team haven’t changed.

“We respect the team, the organization, the coach. We knew we’ll have to prepare for an incredibly tough game out of town. It should be a good one for the Cebuanos,” said Cone as his Ginebra squad takes on Alaska in the Oppo PBA Governors’ Cup at Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

Alaska has yet to win a game in the tournament, losing its first five games. Its miserable skid now stands at 13 games counting the defeats in the Commissioner’s Cup.

Despite that, Cone still believes that Alaska has what it takes to stun Ginebra which boasts of a 3-1 slate.

“Needless to say, Alaska is an incredibly scary team to play. Of their 13 losses, they could have or should have won at least 10 of them, They are not playing bad basketball. They’ve just been snake-bit and unusually unlucky,” Cone said.
