New-look Rain or Shine stops skid, keeps Kia winless

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters looked good with their new acquisitions as they snapped a two-game skid with a 94-86 win over the hapless Kia Picanto in the Oppo PBA Governors’ Cup Sunday at Mall of Asia Arena.

Rain or Shine played its first game since letting go of veteran sniper Jeff Chan and rookie guard Mike Tolomia in trades with Phoenix and Meralco in exchange for Mark Borboran and Ed Daquioag, respectively,.

The Elasto Painters also paraded their new import J’Nathan Bullock who replaced JD Weatherspoon.

Bullock scored 20 points and 10 rebounds in his PBA debut but struggled from the field, shooting just seven-for-23 from the field.

Daquioag had eight points while Borboran made five points and five rebounds in their first games with Rain or Shine.

Rain or Shine, which led by as many as 17 points, improved to 2-2 while Kia, led by Markeith Cummings’ 30 points, remained winless after six games.
