Meralco still unbeaten, improves to 4-0 after rout of Kia

The Meralco Bolts kept their immaculate slate intact after clobbering Kia Picanto, 112-97, in the Oppo PBA Governors’ Cup Sunday at SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Import Allen Durham collected an impressive triple-double of 25 points, 11 rebounds and 13 dimes while Chris Newsome added 19 points, five boards and seven assists for the Bolts who improved to league-best 4-0.

Baser Amer also scored 17 points as Garvo Lanete chipped in 14 markers to help Meralco keep Kia (0-5) winless in the season-ending conference.

After an 11-all tie, the Bolts launched a 15-4 attack to end the first quarter with a 26-15 edge. Meralco never looked back as its lead ballooned to as big as 24 points.

Markeith Cummings finished with 20 points and seven rebounds for the hapless Kia.
