The Philippines will no longer host the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
The Philippine Sports Commission announced on Friday that the country backed out of staging the biennial meet to give way to the rehabilitation efforts in conflict-stricken Marawi.
Davao City was supposed to be the main host city of the games.
It would have been the fourth time for the Philippines to host the SEA Games. The country last staged the event in 2005.
Posted below is PSC letter informing the Philippine Olympic Committe about its decision to withdraw from hosting.
