Marc Pingris may soon be able to play for the Star Hotshots as he is doing well in his rehab for his hip injury.

Nick Ocampo, the Hotshots’ team therapist, relayed the news to InterAksyon.

“When we finish our rehab early next week, we may need another four to six weeks of basketball specific conditioning in the Philippines na lang,” Ocampo said.

Pingris is showing significant signs of progress, according to Ocampo.

“We just started his final week of rehab. Hip strength is steadily increasing and just occasional hip pain. He still goes hard in all exercises, including low impact cardio workout. Although we already started basketball specific movement drills, conditioning has yet to be introduced. We have been doing the rehab four times a week for the past three weeks,” Ocampo said.

Pingris is currently in the US to seek treatment for his hip injury which forced him to sit out the entire Commissioner’s Cup.

The veteran forward was accompanied by Ocampo at the Movement Performance Institute in Los Angeles which Meralco’s Chris Lutz and several NBA players attended.

“Blake Griffin, Zach Lavine, Chandler Parsons, and Tony Allen were also there,” Ocampo said.
