NLEX Road Warriors coach Yeng Guiao is eyeing to add more new players to bolster their roster for the PBA Governors’ Cup.

Guiao told InterAksyon that the team is still trying to pursue a deal for Phoenix Fuel Masters swingman Cyrus Baguio after earlier saying that trade talks had been stalled.

Apart from Baguio, the multi-titled coach is also looking to acquire TNT reserve guard Kris Rosales and Ryan Araña who last played for the Mahindra Floodbuster.

Baguio and Araña once suited up for Guiao during the coach’s stints with the now-defunct Red Bull and Rain or Shine, respectively. Guiao said NLEX might just choose one of them.

“If we get Arana, it means we’re giving up our hopes on getting Cyrus. Ayaw naman naming tumanda rin yung team if we’ll take them both,” Guiao said. “On the other hand, we don’t know if available pa ba si Ryan if ever hindi namin makuha si Cyrus. That’s our dilemma right now.”

But Guiao clarified that he’s not on a rush to add more pieces as Larry Fonacier and Jonas Villanueva are expected to be healthy next conference.

“Larry Fonacier and Jonas Villanueva will be coming back from injuries, so that means we’ll have two guards returning to our team,” Guiao said.

“We’re not on a rush to get any of the players from our options because Larry and Jonas will be part of our rotation.”
