Barangay Ginebra San Miguel dispatched the Mahindra Floodbuster, 94-80, to cement the No.1 spot heading into the Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup playoffs Friday at SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

The Gin Kings (9-2), despite sharing the same record with San Miguel and Star, climbed on top of the standings due to superior quotient over their two rivals. The Beermen settled for No.2, while the Hotshots slid to No.3.

Enjoying a twice-to-beat, Ginebra will be facing the winner of the Alaska-GlobalPort knockout match for the No.8 seed.

Justin Brownlee finished with 22 points, 10 boards and five assists. Japeth Aguilar added 14 points and nine rebounds, while Mark Caguioa contributed 13 points for the Gin Kings who never looked back after grabbing a 26-15 first period lead.

Import Keith Wright scored 21 points and pulled down 22 boards for Mahindra (3-8) which was booted out of contention.
