After suffering a nose injury, Aldrech Ramos needs to wear a protective mask to be able to play.
The PBA’s newest Masked Man sustained a dislocated nose bridge after an incidental contact with San Miguel Beer import Charles Rhodes weeks ago.
“Kailangan talaga mayroong suot eh. Yun ang sabi ng doctor,” Ramos told InterAksyon. “Maski nga matamaan lang ito ng bola pwede lumala yung bali kaya kahit na hindi pa ako comfortable kailangan ko suotin.”
The former Far Eastern University stalwart first used the mask during Tuesday’s practice and admitted he had difficulties playing with it.
“Nakaka-distract sa vision kaya apektado when shooting,” he added. “Tsaka mainit sa pakiramdam.”
Team manager Alvin Patrimonio said Ramos’ protective mask is expensive.
“It costs five figures. It’s a good thing may gumagawa na dito,” the four-time PBA MVP said, recalling the time when protective masks had to be imported from abroad.
