Followers of Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon looked forward to the results of the cyber unjust vexation charges filed against lawyer Ferdinand Topacio who mocked her by claiming she has Alzheimer’s disease.
The poll officer on Tuesday shared a photo of an excerpt of a resolution from the Iloilo Prosecutor’s Office which recommended the filing of information against Topacio for “cyber unjust vexation under Article 287, paragraph 2 of the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines as amended by Section 73 of R.A. 1095 and in relation to Section 6 of R.A. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).”

In August last year, Guanzon tweeted that she has filed a complaint against Topacio for unjust vexation after he reportedly mocked her by claiming that she has Alzheimer’s.
Her mother who had the disease died a month prior at that time.
“My mother, who had Alzheimer’s disease, passed away at 95. F. Topacio mocked me for having the same disease and vexed and annoyed me to no end through Twitter and FB (Facebook). I have filed a complaint against him for unjust vexation in Bacolod,” Guanzon tweeted before.
Topacio said that he has yet to receive the resolution and an arrest warrant but added that some people have alerted him about it.
“I am used to this, this is an occupational hazard of someone who fights the rights of other people,” he said in an interview with GMA News Online.
Meanwhile, Guanzon’s followers welcomed the resolution against Topacio following her post.

“DAZERB,” wrote another online user.
“The beginning of the end for the neo-Nazi lawyer and DDS (Diehard Duterte Supporter) troll,” quipped a different Twitter user.
Topacio also gained traction last year for lashing out against Kakie Panginilan, daughter of Sharon Cuneta and Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, over her notes on the impeachment trial of late Chief Justice Renato Corona.
He called her father a “lousy lawyer” and said that he would “b*tch-slap” her if he was “12 years old.”
Kakie described him as being “embarrassingly triggered” over an 11-year-old’s notes. She was at that age when she composed her notes.
