The Philippines has officially withdrawn its membership from the International Criminal Court (ICC) amid it’s investigation in the Duterte administration’s bloody war on drugs.
In 2018, prior to President Duterte’s announcement of the country’s exit, ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda addressed the public about the court’s preliminary examination on the Philippine government’s connection to the extrajudicial killings due to its “War on Drugs” campaign.
Without international laws under the ICC, there a lot of possibilities that could happen in the Philippines and its relation to other states who are members.
