The heavy rains may be making the metro dark and gloomy, but inside Festival Mall in Alabang, it’s all warm and happy with Oishi’s deliciously brilliant snack food smorgasbord gig called Oishi Snacktacular 2017.
Now on its fourth year and with loyal followers to boot, the event brought in some sunshine and lots of smiles on avowed snack food junkies who came with their gang at Friday’s opening. (The event runs from July 28 to July 30, Sunday, during mall hours.)
No dull moment at this free-admission fair that lets visitors earn as many Oishi drinks and snacks as they can by participating in its fun activities.
There’s a minimum fee for every booth but organizers guarantee the freebies and prizes are definitely worth more than its price.
At the Snack Catcher, for instance and for Php200, you earn your snacks by grabbing all the treats you can get your hands and even legs on while hanging on a zipline (the record so far is 144 snack packs. At the Snack Shack, your Php295 lets you stash as many snacks as you can in a designated bag in one minute.
Quench your thirst at the Oishi Cuckoo Bird. For only (Php120) where visitors wear half of a bird costume in suspenders to catch as many balls as you can. The number of balls you catch is equivalent to the drinks you get to take home.
Enjoy a buffet of your favorite chips and cookies at the Oishi Make Your Own Snack booth for only Php20. Complete your snack time fun with the booth’s selections of dips.
It’s instant gratification at the Oishi Twirl booth. For only Php20, enjoy the bestselling Oishi Choco Chug and Tea Matchi Matcha come in the form of creamy ice cream with a choice of two Oishi snack toppings like salty Gourmet Picks potato chips or leche flan-flavored Wafu sticks. Yum.
If you’re game enough to indulge in all the booths’ activities—and who wouldn’t?—you also get to bring home more goodies courtesy of Oishi.
Definitly a barkada affair, organizers made sure to have Oishi friends meet and greet their fans as well. Drop by then and say hello to mascots like Piyo Pillow Panya, Marty, Hippy, Tata, Potch, and Wafu.
Team-O’s Alex Gonzaga warmed up the crowd on the first day of the snack fest. On Saturday, July 29, at 6 p.m. it’s Maine Mendoza’s turn to greet the crowd. Also seen at the scene were snacksters and vloggers Arabella of That’s Bella, Michelly Dy, Vince Vandorpe, Ronan Domingo, and Pamela Swing.
On Sunday (July 30) at 6 p.m., Kathniel fans will be snacking and having fun with Katherine Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. Another Team-O member, Ramon Bautista, will also be joing the fun on Sunday.
