Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila celebrates the rich history and culture of France through a month-long culinary and wine promotions called “Tout à la Française” (“Everything the French Way”).

The hotel, which is under the helm of French multinational hotel group AccorHotels, puts the spotlight on the best of its French heritage this July.

To further enliven the celebration, Sofitel is bringing in French culinary ambassador Chef Patrick Terrien of Loire Valley. Chef Patrick has notable accomplishments that include working as sous chef to Michelin Star Chef Joël Robuchon at the Nikko Hotel Paris and becoming Chef Instructor for a tenure of 24 years at Le Cordon Bleu Paris, one of the most recognized culinary institutes worldwide.

A well-respected culinary instructor and French cuisine book author, Chef Patrick has over 49 years of culinary experience and has been invited as guest French Master Chef in 21 countries where he has conducted cooking demonstrations in various food festivals.

On his passion for cooking, Chef Patrick shares, “Cooking is all about love. Put love to the food you make.”

Mark your calendars, Francophiles, foodies, and wine lovers! Here are 10 ways to savor everything deliciously French this month at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila:

1. French cuisine at Spiral, July 17 to 23 (Monday to Sunday)
Enjoy a rich presentation of French dishes at Spiral restaurant prepared by Chef Patrick Terrien. Besides the hearty cuisine, diners also get a chance to win items in the restaurant’s raffle draw.

2. Chef’s Table featuring Chef Patrick Terrien, July 17 (Monday), 6.30pm at Spiral
Chef Terrien hosts an exclusive group of gastronomes and connoisseurs to the Chef’s Table. Dinner is a four-course menu at Spiral’s Davao and Boracay Show Kitchen and will be available at Php3,800+++ per person. This promotion is only for 10 people and will start at 6:30 p.m. Interested parties are requested to reserve early for guaranteed seats.

3. French cooking class with Chef Patrick Terrien, July 19 (Wednesday), Spiral
Get to meet the French master chef himself as he showcases two of his signature dishes. Only 10 students will be accommodated in this class. Rate for the session is Php1,500 nett per person. Interested parties are encouraged to book early to guarantee participation and slot.

4. Degustation: French Wine Dinner, July 21 (Friday), La Veranda
Enjoy Chef Terrien’s 4-course dinner paired with fine French wines. This special dinner is priced at Php3,500+++ per person. Limited seats available. Book early for guaranteed slots.

5. French delights prepared à la minute, July 17 to 23 (Monday to Sunday), 2017, Spiral French Stove
Visit Spiral’s French atelier and enjoy curated selections as well as traditional French dishes prepared à la minute. Chef Patrick’s selected recipes will be featured as part of this special offering.

6. French wines to enjoy.
But of course, what would a fine French meal be without pairing it with excellent French wines? Besides the gastronomy delights this month, Sofitel will also showcase wines from various parts of France.

At the Le Bar lounge, sip and enjoy wines from the following areas: South of France, available on July 7 to 8; Bordeaux, July 14 to 15; Côtes du Rhône, July 21 to 22; Burgundy, July 28 to 29.

The different wine regions also take the spotlight at Spiral’s Sunday brunches with featured wines from South of France on July 9; Bordeaux on July 16; Côtes du Rhône on July 23; and Burgundy on July 30.

Spiral’s Sunday brunch, which offers international selections from 21 dining ateliers and decadent champagne, is available at Php4,215 nett per person.

7. The Art of Wine, July 29 (Saturday), starting at 4 p.m.
Learn more about the different excellent wines of France as Sofitel’s French wine connoisseur, Tanguy Gras, engages you in an afternoon of wine appreciation and pairings. Rate for this session is Php2,000 nett per person. Limited seating available. Book early for guaranteed seating.

8. Bastille Day weekend
In commemoration of the historic Bastille Day or French National Day, the hotel presents special menus in its various restaurant outlets. At Spiral, for example, a revolutionary-inspired French menu and themed cocktails are available from July 14 (Bastille Day) to 16. There will be a fireworks show by the poolside on the 14th to honor this meaningful day.

On July 16, Spiral’s Sunday Brunch will serve a “bloody revolutionary” cocktail along with its sumptuous spread and live musical entertainment. Diners also get a chance to win a handbag and luggage set by Lipault and featured prizes from Guerlain, Tefal and Nuxe Paris. Rate is set at Php2,650 nett per person for lunch on July 14; Php3,350 nett per person for dinner; and for the Sunday brunch buffet, Php4,400 nett per person.

9. Play pétanque at Sunset Bar
For a slice of outdoor recreation, unwind with family and friends in a leisurely game of pétanque. The traditional French game has participants throwing hollow metal balls from inside a designated circle. The goal of the game is to get it as close as possible to a smaller wooden target called a cochonnet. Enjoy this friendly game over a round of Pernod Ricard and amidst the lush surroundings of the Sunset Bar.

10. Enjoy French cheeses at Le Bar’s Grand Epicerie, July 3 to 31
