The popular flame-grilled Tex-Mex chicken restaurant, El Pollo Loco, is now under The Bistro Group in the Philippines. The press announcement was released on Monday by the restaurant group that already has 16 international hospitality casual dining brands and homegrown concepts under its helm.

According to a press statement, The Bistro Group has plans of opening more El Pollo Loco branches to make the restaurant available for more diners. Right now, the US-based restaurant has only two branches in the country: Megamall and SM Mall of Asia.

As a preview of what else to expect from The Bistro Group franchise, El Pollo Loco’s flagship store in Megamall recently underwent remodeling to make it more enticing and closer to being a modern Mexican cantina. Brick walls, hanging lamps, wood beams and hand painted tiles provide a festive feel to the establishment.

The Tex-Mex restaurant serves healthy flame-grilled chicken popularly enjoyed as a wrap along with sidings like fresh tomato salsa, Spanish rice, and tortilla breads.Other sides include potato salad, fiesta corn, and coleslaw.

Aside from flame-grilled chicken and crunchy nachos, other staples include beef nachos, spaghetti con salsa, cheesy taquitos and cheese quesadilla. A new menu item is the Loco Bowl with Asian Zing, a hearty combination of chicken slices grilled to perfection, rice, and sweet corn drizzled with a special sauce.
