Entertainment couple Richard and Roni Merk had a much-publicized physical ordeal that happened early last year. The country’s premier jazz artist got into a car accident that left him in a debilitating condition.
Richard’s right foot was nearly amputated, if not for a diabetic wound expert who saved it. Still, he was bed ridden and immobile for a year. He even gave up performing, much against his will.
Meanwhile, Roni underwent colon surgery that sidelined her from engaging into any physical activity for several months. She had to wage a battle against the Big C, but is now cancer-free.
