Indian, Japanese and South Korean titles featured prominently in Prime Video’s first weekly global Top 10 rankings, released as part of the streaming platform’s new initiative to publish its most-watched original films and series worldwide.

The inaugural charts, covering viewership from June 8 to 14, showed India leading the Non-English Prime Original Series rankings with three entries: “Raakh,” “Matka King” and “The Family Man.” Japan’s “Nippon Sangoku: The Three Nations of the Crimson Sun” ranked second, while South Korea’s “Absolute Value of Romance” placed 10th.

Indian productions also appeared on the overall worldwide rankings. System ranked sixth on the Top 10 Prime Original Films chart, joining titles such as “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War,” “Over Your Dead Body,” “A Working Man” and “Crime 101.” Italian film “Love Me Love Me” also made the global list at No. 8.

On the overall Prime Original Series chart, “Raakh” debuted at No. 7 alongside “Off Campus,” “Every Year After,” “Spider-Noir,” “Clarkson’s Farm,” “The Boys,” “Legend of Vox Machina,” “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan,” “Citadel” and “The Summer I Turned Pretty.”

The streaming giant said the rankings show that “language is no barrier to global hits.”

It noted that System has held the No. 1 spot on the non-English films chart for three consecutive weeks, while “Raakh” debuted at No. 1 on the non-English series chart and No. 7 on the overall global series chart.

Other titles on the non-English films chart included Spain’s “Culpa Mia,” “Culpa Nuestra,” “Culpa Tuya” and “Agent Zeta;” France’s “A Family of Bastards;” Italy’s “No Place to Be Single” and “Ancora più Sexy”; Mexico’s “Vengeance”; and Spain’s “Tell Me Softly.”

The rankings were released alongside Prime Video’s new Weekly Top 10 initiative, which the company said is intended to provide greater transparency into viewing trends on its platform.

According to Prime Video, the charts are based on actual global viewership data and offer “a real-time pulse on the films and series resonating with viewers around the world.”

The streaming app described the initiative as “a significant step toward viewership transparency in the streaming industry.”

“For the first time, audiences, creators, journalists, and industry analysts will have a consistent, weekly window into what’s capturing global attention on Prime Video,” it said.

Prime Video added that the charts “demonstrate the platform’s commitment to global storytelling, and the data proves that audiences everywhere are embracing content from diverse cultures and languages.”

Updated every Thursday, the rankings cover four categories: Top 10 Prime Original Films (English and non-English), Top 10 Prime Original Series (English and non-English), Top 10 Non-English Prime Original Films, and Top 10 Non-English Prime Original Series.
