A new trailer for the psychological thriller “Verity” has been released.
The trailer drop gave audiences a glimpse of the dark and unsettling story ahead of its Philippine cinema release on September 30.
“There is no light where we’re going,” the trailer teases, setting the tone for the film’s tense and atmospheric narrative.
Based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel, “Verity” follows struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh, played by Dakota Johnson, who is hired to complete a successful book series after a life-changing incident leaves author Verity Crawford, portrayed by Anne Hathaway, unable to continue writing.
As Lowen moves into the remote Crawford estate, she discovers a manuscript filled with disturbing autobiographical notes that blur the boundaries between truth and fiction.
The trailer hints at growing psychological tension as Lowen becomes entangled in the world of Verity and her husband Jeremy, played by Josh Hartnett, raising questions about manipulation, obsession and hidden truths.
Directed by Michael Showalter and written by Nick Antosca, the film also features Ismael Cruz Cordova and Brady Wagner.
Verity is distributed in the Philippines by Columbia Pictures, the local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.
