There’s a new shirt celebrating the music of former Sugarfree and its former frontman, Ebe Dancel.
It bears the lyrics of Sugarfree’s “Mariposa,” one of the songs from the “Sa Wakas” album that left a mark on OPM lovers.
The specific lyrics from the 2023 hit song “Mariposa”—“Ayoko nang mag-isa. Ayoko na na na na,” has been imprinted on the new shirt release of Linya-Linya. It was released Thursday, a day before the repeat of Ebe’s “Sa Wakas” concert.
“These lyrics from the 2003 hit song ‘Mariposa’ of the band Sugarfree stayed relevant until today as it depicts the feeling of wanting to be with someone already after a long time of being alone in life,” Linya-Linya said in a release.
Now a solo artist, Ebe, who is celebrating 20 years of “Sa Wakas” album and more than 20 years in the industry, reminisced about his early years as a musician.
“Kailangang i-celebrate ‘to kasi this is the album that kinda gave me a purpose. Kasi before, wala lang. Wala naman akong direksyon. Palutang-lutang lang. Nung lumabas ‘yung album, nabago ‘yung buhay namin lahat, in good and bad ways pero it sort of gave me direction as to what I wanted to do, as to what God’s plan was for me,” the musician said.
This was not the first time the former frontman of the iconic band Sugarfree collaborated with the shirt brand.
In 2020, Ebe collaborated with Linya-Linya for the release of the “Greatest Hits” shirt for his 20th anniversary then.
There was also a shirt bearing the lyrics of another hit song “Bawat Daan,” the “Nag-iisang tiyak sa isang libong dudad,” shirt last year as well as the limited edition “Burnout” shirt last January.
The limited edition is still available at Linya-Linya’s online and physical stores.
The new collab shirt may also be purchased from www.linyalinya.ph, LazMall, ShopeeMall, Tiktok Shop, at sa Linya-Linya Store Trinoma, Uptown Mall, BGC, Taguig, at Libis, Q.C. (Magnitude Bldg., near Eastwood.
