A well-loved fast-food chain announced a comeback in the local food scene in Quezon City after a hiatus during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chic-boy, a homegrown restaurant known for its chicken and pork meals, announced a soft reopening of its store in Quezon City on December 2.

“WE’RE BACK!” the post reads.

“Original recipe na babalik-balikan,” it also added.

Chic-Boy’s old patrons may visit its location at The Terraces in the corner of Tomas Morato and Scout Borromeo in Quezon City.

Photos of the interior and storefront were also attached to the post.

Hailing from Cebu City, Chic-Boy used to have several branches across different parts of Metro Manila.

Crowd favorite offerings include its Chicken Inasal, Cebu Lechon and Cebu Lechon Manok.

Chic-Boy is offering them again, along with other food and beverage items, in affordable prices.

In a separate post, Chic-Boy shared photos of its menu that contained well-loved signature meals. They can be availed either in the store or via food-delivery apps.

The following are the prices for the brand’s signature chicken and pork meals:

  • Chicken Inasal (paa) – P155
  • Chicken Inasal (petso) – P165
  • Pork barbecue – P130
  • Inihaw na Liempo – P175
  • Cebu Lechon Manok – P165
  • Cebu Lechon Liempo – P190

The announcement of Chic-Boy’s return in QC in time for the holidays got many of its old customers excited to try dining here again.

In the comments section, they expressed support for the management for being able to bounce back.

“Welcome back, definitely will be on our bucket list,” one user said.

“Welcome back Chic-boy! Congratulations,” another user commented.

“Maligayang pagbabalik, Chic-Boy. Na miss ko kayo,” another user said.

As its name suggests, Chic-boy is a play of the words chicken and “baboy” or pork in English.

It was founded by a businessman named Francis Juan in Cebu in 2010.

The restaurant soon expanded in Metro Manila and nearby cities and provinces.

Chic-Boy was among the businesses that were affected by the tough lockdowns in March 2020 to supposedly stop the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

Its branch in Intramuros, Manila, however, continued to operate amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last year, this branch gained online buzz after some online users learned that it is the last Chic-boy branch operating.
