Award-winning chef Miko Aspiras has been named the new executive pastry chef-partner of the food and beverage company, Visum Ventures.
This was announced by the company’s president and CEO John-Michael “Mike” Hilton at the Salt and Ice Bar last September 27.
Visum Ventures is an F&B company that brings healthy options to the Philippines. Its maiden brand is Manila’s favorite natural drinking yoghurt from Australia, Koomi.
Its other brands include the following:
- Oh My Greek (accessible Greek food)
- Zig (healthy, hearty dishes)
- Sante (premium casual counterpart of Zig)
- Meraki (the elevated version of Oh My Greek)

The company is also the exclusive distributor of T2 teas, the leading loose-leaf tea retailer from Australia and Salt and Ice Bar, fresh oysters and craft cocktails, with a branch in Taguig City.
Meanwhile, with chef Miko on board, he will curate desserts and introduce new concepts for all Visum Ventures restaurants.
During the media night at Salt and Ice Bar, chef Miko introduced some of his new dessert creations.
These are the following:
- “Banana-Q’ version with langka, mousse with banana financier and mille feuille
- Black Forest with Auro Dark Chocolate Mousse, with cherries and dark chocolate
- Delicate petit fours; Calamansi Cake with Auro White Chocolate Glaze
- Vegemite Butterscotch with Auro Milk Chocolate Ganache and Auro Dark Chocolate Shell Pralines
- Sable cookie with able Breton, coconut marshmallow, and Dumaguete passion fruit pastille.
Miko has a stellar career in the culinary scene creating a name in the country and overseas.
His experience spans from working at top hotels in the country such as commis chef at the Shangri-La Manila and working for Raffles & Fairmont, Resorts World Manila. He recently held executive pastry chef positions at Hilton Hotel Sydney and Ovolo Hotel Sydney.
On top of his experience, chef Miko earned recognition in the Philippines and in Hong Kong and was featured in the prestigious So Good Magazine. He was also hailed as 2018 Forbes Under 30 honorees.
In view of this, Visum’s Hilton was delighted to welcome Miko to their team. The chef was one of the first who caught his eye while he was looking for a young, dynamic and highly-creative chef to whom he would entrust the curation of desserts and pastries for the Visum Ventures’ brands.
Hilton described the new executive pastry chef as a “culinary rockstar.”
“He is undoubtedly a culinary rockstar, making a name for himself here and in Australia where he is currently based. His works can be considered high art, driven by creativity and inventiveness,” Hilton said.
“His innovative and indulgent desserts and pastries will be excellent additions to our brands,” he added.
Likewise, chef Miko said he is honored and excited to be part of Visum Ventures.
