Viewers of ABS-CBN’s “TV Patrol” were delighted by the much-anticipated return of ABS-CBN’s “TV Patrol” to free television over the weekend.

“TV Patrol’s” Weekend edition started airing on A2Z Channel last Saturday after nearly two years of its episodes being limited and accessible to online platforms only.

ABS-CBN and “TV Patrol” announced this comeback on Facebook.

The flagship newscast also joined other ABS-CBN shows on A2Z Channel’s new daily schedule.

“Good news, Kapamilya! Mas marami pang puwedeng makapanood ng mga pinakabagong balita na hatid ng TV Patrol. Panoorin ang TV Patrol tuwing alas-6:30 ng gabi mula Lunes hanggang Biyernes sa A2Z Channel,” the caption read in the show’s Facebook post.

On the first day of its airing on New Year’s Day, some Filipinos shared screenshots and short clips of them watching TV Patrol’s weekend edition on the A2Z channel.

Some social media users, on the other hand, expressed how thankful they were that ABS-CBN is slowly getting back on its feet.

“Good to know na nakabalik na kayo…lalo na TV Patrol (heart eyes emoji). Slowly…we’re getting back on air,” one Facebook user said.

“Kapamilya forever! Thank you may TV Patrol na sa A2Z. Mas enjoy manuod sa big screen,” another Facebook user wrote.

“Sa wakas may TV Patrol na on free TV,” an online user commented.

“TV Patrol” and its regional editions were among the programs of the embattled broadcast firm that went off the air on May 5, 2020, in compliance with the National Telecommunications Commission’s cease-and-desist order to the network due to the expiration its franchise.

Days after, on May 7 of that year, “TV Patrol” and ABS-CBN’s other subsidiaries managed to run anew through their social media properties.

Episodes of the evening newscast, in particular, were made available through the following platforms:

  • Official website: news.abs-cbn.com
  • Official Facebook page: Facebook.com/abscbnNEWS
  • Official YouTube: youtube.com/ABSCBNNews
  • Video-streaming service and app iWant.PH
  • ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC)
