Although considered as one of the most sought-after singers in the country, Karylle admits that she does not always do Valentine concerts every year. But when she does, she makes sure the show is going to be truly special.

As special shows go, Karylle chose to do a Valentine’s Day show this year at Manila House, an exclusive private membership club at Bonifacio Global City that has been making a lot of waves as of late.

“I love how Manila House is the prettiest place in the metro with lots of art, and there’s something beautiful everywhere you look. I’m the type who likes to set up little parties and do something that will be a new experience for me as well as for other people. I think holding a concert here will leave a lasting impression to those who will watch,” Karylle recently told InterAksyon and other media during a press conference for her show simply called “Date Night.”

In preparing for the intimate show she describes as “the perfect chill night,” Karylle said she has prepared a repertoire consisting of well-loved standards and OPM favorites like songs from “Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko,” the celebrated ballet musical inspired by the music of VST & Company.

Broadway classics including a song or two from the film “The Greatest Showman,” which Karylle admits to falling in love with, may also be in her menu of performances.

“It’s a beautiful thing to share music with people who are very much in love. I love singing to couples and serenade them like a bard,” she enthused.

Outside of her Valentine show, Karylle has also been in the news for many other reasons.

Apart from recording new songs for her upcoming album, Karylle is also busy working on her business ventures which include being a partner in the popular food app, Booky. There’s also Rockstar, the family KTV and restobar which had its soft opening at the SM Aura last December, which she co-owns with good friend and “It’s Showtime” co-host Anne Curtis.

She recently made headlines after a chance encounter with Marian Rivera, the wife of former boyfriend Dingdong Dantes, that went quite well although the 36-year old singer prefers to downplay it.

And then there was her surprise appearance at the finale of the hit teleserye “Wildflower” where she played the vengeful daughter of the character played by her own mother, Zsa Zsa Padilla.

Which brings us to the reported desire of her mom to have a grandchild as Karylle and husband Yael Yuzon have yet to have a date with the stork three years into their marriage.

Karylle said there’s really no pressure for her to have a baby although she’s not ruling out that it may happen sooner than later, maybe even this year if blessed.

As for her own Valentine’s date, Karylle said it will have to take place later this month as Yael is booked solid with his own shows with his band Spongecola until the Chinese New Year.

Karylle’s “Date Night” show is happening on February 14 at the Manila House with special guests Kris Lawrence and “Tawag ng Tanghalan” finalists Froilan Canlas and Charles Kevin Tan.

Produced by ALV Events International, in cooperation with Manila House, “Date Night” is inclusive of dinner/cocktails. For ticket inquiries, call ALV Events International (637-7016) or Manila House (0917-8163685)
