Once again, the Philippines is the country to beat in Season 2 of AXN’s popular talent series, “Asia’s Got Talent.”
Following two semifinals shows that clinched Grand Finals berths for beatboxer Neil Ray Garcia Llanes and long-haired hip-hop dance group DM-X Convaleñoz, the third semifinals show that aired last November 30 left the two final remaining slots for the show’s fans to vote on.
In the Grand Finals show this Thursday, it was revealed that Urban Crew, another Filipino hip-hop act, was voted in by fans into the finale.
This brings the total of Philippine acts that made it to the Grand Finals of “Asia’s Got Talent” to three, more than any other country remaining in the contest.
The three performing acts are competing against six other finalists from Indonesia (Angela July and The Sacred Riana), Mongolia (Canion Shijirbat), Malaysia (Sobhi Shaker), Kyrgyzstan (ADEM Dance Crew) and Taiwan (Feng E).
All nine finalists delivered the performance of their lives, with all three performers from the Philippines making lasting impressions among judges David Foster, Anggun and Jay Park.
The high flying Urban Crew opened the show with an energetic ninja-style dance highlighted by breathtaking jumps, flips and spins.
“My heart beats so fast…that was such a solid performance. During the semifinals there were some mistakes but tonight you delivered,” exclaimed Anggun, who along with Jay Park and David Foster gave the crew a standing ovation.
Neil Ray Garcia Llanes was the sixth performer and delivered a stunning number that started with him acting as a DJ who experienced technical difficulties. He then proceeded to replace his turntable with his beatboxing skills highlighted by an amazing display of 10 different voices.
“It was so clever. I was so impressed. You said you were going to bring it, you brought it. You went from six to 10 sounds, bravo!,” David Foster enthused.
Closing the show was DM-X Convaleñoz. The 10-man dance group presented a dazzling number that brought their feminine side to the fore and as a result drew a standing ovation from all three judges as well as the studio audience who chanted, “D-M-X! D-M-X!” at the conclusion of their performance.
“For me, I think you guys deserve to win the whole competition!” Jay Park declared.
But as much as the judges may have made up their minds as to who should win this season of “Asia’s Got Talent,” the final decision is not up to any of them.
Who will win the competition will depend on the number of votes that each of the nine acts will generate from December 7 to December 13 by 11:59PM.
To vote, here’s what the supporters of each finalist should do. First is to create a Facebook post with the favorite act’s hashtag, or go to @Asiasgottalent Facebook page and click on the message button to vote, or do a Google Search by typing “Asia’s Got Talent vote” on the search field.
