Padilla, who reportedly earns a living as a construction worker in Imus, Cavite, has also been making action figures out of flip flops or tsinelas as they are known in Tagalog — the popular footwear made of rubber materials, which he apparently found to be flexible and colorful enough to create figures.

The Samar native and his impressive action figures of popular characters like the Transformers, Deadpool, Voltes V and Predator, among others recently attracted global attention. Among the several news outlets and video blogs that featured him was United News International, a U.S.-based news site that specializes in presenting one-minute video news reports on a variety of subjects from around the world.
