The Philippine theater scene is more alive than ever. Whether it’s a musical or a straight play or even a ballet, we’ve been treated to one wonderful stage production after another almost every month.
This September is no exception. And while there are plenty of things to like about PETA’s “A Game of Trolls” directed by Maribel Legarda, The Necessary Theater’s “Blackbird” directed by Topper Fabregas, Rep Theater for Young Audiences’ “Beauty and the Beast” directed by Joy Virata and “Juana Change’s Tao Po” directed by Ed Lacson, Jr., it’s the performance of the lead stars that make them a cut above the ordinary.
