In addition to presenting some of the most acclaimed independently produced films in recent years, Cinemalaya has also given rise to a good number of memorable performers.
The 13th edition of the indie film festival is no different. While this year’s batch may not be shaping up to be among the best in Cinemalaya’s history, what is certainly not lacking are indelible portrayals from their respective cast members.
Lead stars like Sharon Cuneta, Jake Cuenca, Angeli Bayani, Angel Aquino and Gina Alajar deliver as expected. But the most pleasant surprises come from actors very few anticipate to make their mark. And here’s at least six of them.
Cinemalaya 13 is presented by the Cultural Center of the Philippines in partnership with the Cinemalaya Foundation and Ayala Cinemas. The festival will run from August 4 to 13.
