Hours after learning the demise of Alfie Lorenzo on Tuesday, actress Judy Ann Santos took to Instagram to announce the interment details of her longtime talent manager.
Lorenzo or Tito Alfie as he was fondly referred to in showbiz circles, suffered a heart attack last Monday night at Solaire Resort and Casino. He was rushed to San Juan De Dios Hospital in Pasay City where he eventually expired early Tuesday morning.
“It is with deep sadness that we pray for our dear Tito Alfie Lorenzo who has joined our Creator at 2:12 this morning. We are just coordinating the wake details with the family as we would want to be faithful to his last requests. We shall keep you posted. Thank you for your understanding and being one of us in this time of grief,” went Judy Ann’s initial post.
In a succeeding post, the actress announced that the remains of Lorenzo, 78, can be viewed at the Faith chapel of Arlington Memorial Chapels following a mass that took place at 8PM.
Known for his outspoken nature and flamboyant personality, Lorenzo was a boxer before becoming known as a showbiz columnist whose contemporaries included fellow talent manager Douglas Quijano, who was his co-host in the showbiz talk show “Rumors, Facts and Humor” in the mid-1980s, and Oskee Salazar and Billy Balbastro, his co-hosts in another showbiz talk show, “Troika Tonight” for ABC 5.
Tito Alfie managed several talents including Sunshine Cruz, Ruffa Gutierrez, Gretchen Barretto, Jackie Forster, Edgar Mande, Lito Pimentel, Rey “PJ” Abellana, Patrick dela Rosa and Jeffrey Santos, Judy Ann’s brother.
His longest relationship with a talent was with Judy Ann, whom he managed for three decades until Judy Ann announced last April that she was no longer under his wing. The actress described their parting of ways as amicable but Lorenzo later issued a statement declaring otherwise.
Judy Ann responded by saying that she considered Tito Alfie as family and more than just her manager.
In addition to Judy Ann, Sunshine Cruz and Jackie Forster also paid tribute to their former manager on Instagram.
RIP Tito Alfie. Thank you for everything.
