Ian Veneracion is on a roll.

With two hit horror movies (“Ilawod,” “Bliss”) and an ongoing primetime teleserye (“A Love to Last”) that has once again made him a household name, the 42-year-old actor has reached a career high that he has not enjoyed since starting he started his career at the age of 5.

From being a child star who starred opposite Joey de Leon in the hit sitcom “Joey and Son” in 1982, Ian transitioned to a matinee idol as a teen actor for the rest of the decade. He was later repackaged as an action star during the 1990s before settling for character roles until he was cast as the lead of Mike Alcazaren’s psychological thriller “Puti” for the CineFilipino Film Festival in 2013.

This eventually led to bigger roles like the television remake of the soap “Got To Believe” in 2015 and the hit romcom “The Achy Breaky Hearts” last year. Reflecting on a career that took the long, circuitous route to leading man status, Ian noted that while he is thrilled to be in this position at this point, the actor feels that this is only the beginning.

“40 is, like, you spent the first half of your life trying to learn who you want to be. You did stuff that you wanted to try out. At age 40, you know who you are, you know what’s right and wrong, you have your own values. For me, it’s just the start of the flight. When you reach this age, you know exactly where you’re coming from, where you’re at, and where you’re going,” he said during a recent promotional activity for Ascof Lagundi cough syrup.

Happily married with three wonderful children, Ian knows there’s more to life than just the glitz and glamor that come with his profession. “Life is my priority, not work,” he declared which is also why he relishes his blessings by being actively engaged in outdoor sports.

In an earlier interview with InterAksyon, Ian stated his preference for “out-of-the-box” projects although he doesn’t mind making the most of the offers that continues to come his way following his renewed popularity.

But because of his busy work as an actor and his active lifestyle, Ian also knows that it is important to always keep his health in check. This is why he opted to endorse a cough medicine that he was in fact already taking.

“When my manager informed me that Ascof wanted to sign me up as its endorser, I said, ‘Perfect! Just last week I had Ascof Lagundi in my bag.’ I definitely believe in the product,” he quipped.

“For me, getting enough sleep and eating properly are important to keep your body healthy. But when cough strikes, you should take Ascof Lagundi. It’s a safe and natural remedy that you may take even at the onset of a cough, and when you are just starting to show its early symptoms.”

Made from 100 percent organically grown Lagundi leaves, Ascof Lagundi has become the preferred alternative over chemical medicines as a natural and effective relief for cough and bronchial asthma, particularly during this rainy season.

Ascof Lagundi has several variants for for kids and adults. “But my personal favorite is Ascof Forte Menthol Sugar Free Syrup because it actually gives me instant relief from sore and itchy throat due to cough,” he further revealed.

As the actor braces himself for more challenges in his life and career, he is comforted by the fact that he has more than enough health options to meet them head on.
