P-pop group SB19 expressed their hopes for the Filipino music scene, saying that collaborations among artists could help elevate the industry.

Despite coming from different groups and companies, every artist’s contribution is crucial to advancing the P-pop and OPM movement, according to member Pablo.

“Iisa lang tayo ng goal. Gusto natin umangat ‘yung musika ng Pilipino o kulturang Pilipino,” Pablo told his fellow artists during an episode of “Showbreak,” SB19’s reality show that gives a behind-the-scenes look at the group.

“Sana magsilbi tayong inspirasyon sa bawat isa…If nahihirapan tayo na walang sumusuporta, sana tayo, suportahan natin ‘yung bawat isa,” he added.

The group invited some of their fellow “classmates” in the industry, including MNL48, AJAA, HORI7ON, Alamat, G22 and Maki, to their latest episode, a year-end celebration themed like a school Christmas party from the 2010s.

The artists showcased their talents through intermission performances and friendly competition in various party games.

SB19 member Stell Ajero added that the event provided an opportunity for the artists to bond with one another.

“I think this is one of the most special episodes ng ‘Showbreak’ for this year,” Stell said.

“Ito talaga ‘yung something na matagal na namin gustong gawin and i-try ‘yung makasama yung different groups,” he added, explaining that they never had the chance to hang out together before.

Some of the invited artists also expressed hopes for more opportunities like this in the future, which would foster community among them and help elevate each other’s music careers.
