“Finally, she won!”

Filipinos were elated after Filipino-American Jessica Sanchez snagged the crown on Season 20 of “America’s Got Talent,” marking her second time competing since her 2006 stint.

The half-Pinay won the grand champion title on Thursday, September 25, after receiving the highest number of votes, beating improv rapper Chris Turner.

Apart from the title, Jessica is taking home the $1 million prize.

The mom-to-be impressed the judges with her powerful rendition of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With A Smile.”

Jessica told her fans that she gave her “very last breath on stage.”

She also reflected on her past experiences in other talent competitions and expressed gratitude to her supporters after her final performance.

“I’m just grateful for you, guys. You guys have been so amazing to me. You have showed so much love. This has been so crazy, coming back 20 years later,” the singer said in a Facebook Live.

“You know, being 10 years old on the first season and then also being on ‘Idol’. Like I said, I fell out of love with music for such a long time, and I had to find myself again, and you guys have been really supportive through this season of my life, where it was really scary for me to come back,” Jessica added.

“I’m just so grateful for you guys, so thank you, thank you for all of the love,” she said.

Filipinos then celebrated the half-Pinay’s victory on AGT following her comeback.

Content creator Fonzi said the singer is deserving of her win.

“13 years ago, I was heartbroken when she was robbed of an American Idol… now, I’m healed…. you nailed it, momma,” another Facebook user wrote.

“Finally, after 14 years!” another user exclaimed.

“FINALLY, HINDI NA WHITE MAN WITH GUITAR,” a different Pinoy said.

“Finally, she won, congratulations, Jessica,” another commented.

“Hindi na runner up, sana bigyan na ng madaming opportunity,” a different Pinoy wrote.

“What a journey it has been for Jessica Sanchez. From being eliminated in AGT 20 years ago as a young contender, and breaking down in tears for failing to be an American Idol champion before, to coming back to America’s Got Talent and pulling off a win despite being 9 months pregnant,” another said.

“Wow! She is phenomenal and an epitome of not giving up in life, trying and trying until her dreams come to [reality],” the online user added.

Jessica first competed on AGT during its inaugural season in 2006.

At that time, she advanced to the semifinals as a wildcard contestant but did not receive enough votes to secure a spot in the finale.

The half-Pinay also competed in the eleventh season of “American Idol,” finishing as a runner-up to Phillip Phillips.

Jessica rose to prominence through “American Idol,” with many claiming she was “robbed” of the title despite her “powerhouse voice” and “astounding” vocal range for a 16-year-old.
