Kapuso actress and beauty queen Herlene Budol on Sunday responded to those who are criticizing her fall during a runway walk at the GMA Gala last Saturday.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Herlene emphasized that the accident should not be treated as a laughing matter after some believed that it was “scripted”.

“Accidents always [happen]! Sa palagay [niyo] ba gusto ko [madapa]?” she wrote.

Her post garnered 405 likes and 42 reposts.

In a separate post reposting a video of the controversial fall, Herlene maintained her positive attitude and talked about hope.

“Kapag nadapa ka, bumangon ka,” she said in an earlier post on X.

Others, however, continued to believe that she intentionally faked the fall for clout.

“Ay hindi halatang sadya… Halatang-halata lang for the clout!” a X user wrote with a grinning face emoji.

“Hindi siya tumingin sa baba parang scripted?” another online user asked.

“Nagpahulog ka naman talaga para mapag-usapan haha” an X user said.

Despite the criticisms, others expressed their concern and sympathy for Herlene on X.

“Are you okay po?” an online user asked.

“Okay lang yan. Ako rin nadapa. Bumili ako ng taho sa tapat ng bahay, pag talikod ko natisod ako sa hakbang, nabasag ang bowl, nanay ko nakatago sa pintuan hindi man lang ako tinulungan. Tapos rinig ko sabi ng magtataho, bibili pa ulit kayo?” another X user said.

“Hayaan mo na sila. You were gorgeous last night!” GMA reporter Joseph Morong commented.

On Saturday night, the Kapuso Foundation hosted its third year of the GMA Gala, a charity event that brought thousands of celebrities, news and internet personalities, beauty queens and more.

Herlene walked the Gala stage showcasing her “Birth of Venus” gown made by fashion designer Leo Almodal.
