“True spirit of a queen.”

This was how Filipinos described Miss Universe 2023 Top 10 finalist Michelle Dee who was confronted about Miss Universe Organization owner Anne Jakrajutatip‘s viral “move on” comment.

The beauty queen on Monday, November 27 appeared in the talk show “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” where she was asked about the Thai mogul’s remarks, which Pinoys interpreted as Anne telling them to get over the pageant results, along with the Thais.

However, translator Aurea Mae Bulacso said that the MUO owner was telling viewers she herself needed medicine so she could move on with the Miss Universe 2023 outcome.

“Sinabi rin niya na ‘naloko na’ pero wala siyang pinatutungkulan kung sino,” Aurea said to the Philippine Enteratinment Portal before.

“Magre-release daw siya ng kanta na ‘Move On’ kasi kailangan daw niya ‘yon o gamot na move on,” the translator added.

Thailand bet Anntonia Porsild was the first runner-up in the pageant’s 72nd edition, while Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios got the crown.

This was the first time that Nicaragua won the highly coveted Miss Universe crown. It also marks the fifth time the Central American country has placed in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, Tito Boy on his talk show asked for Michelle’s comment about Anne’s “move on” remarks, which were now misinterpreted by many.

“I mean, quite frankly, I feel like Miss Universe is essentially a life because of its supporters, of everybody that’s so passionate. Even though she might not have had bad intentions — the way it was executed, delivered — it could’ve been better,” the Philippine bet said.

“I frankly think there’s always a better way to be more respectful to the fans, but of course — do I believe that it was done with malicious intent? I try to see the best in everybody,” Michelle added, saying it was what she “chose to do.”

Michelle’s reaction to Anne’s comment earned praise from Filipinos who thought the beauty queen had a “great attitude” in addressing Anne’s “move on” remarks.

“That’s the true spirit of a queen,” a Facebook user commented with a crown emoji.

“Very well attitude of a genuine Beauty Queen… and as a person. Congratulations, Ms. MMD,” wrote another Pinoy.

“I admire her more with this statement,” a different user commented.

“And I admire you for that, Michelle Dee, what a great attitude. God Bless, Queen,” wrote another user.

Last week, actress Rhian Ramos shared her reaction to the video where Anne was heard saying “move on” in Michelle’s presence.

The Philippine bet failed to advance to the Top 5 of the beauty pageant’s 72nd edition, but she landed special awards such as the gold medal in the “Voice for Change” video, the “Spirit of Carnival” award and was named Best in National Costume.
