“Now that’s a ‘sana-all’ moment.”

Andrea Brillantes became the talk of the town after members of the K-pop supergroup BLACKPINK helped execute a promposal to her boyfriend Ricci Rivero for the upcoming “Star Magical Prom.”

The 20-year-old actress trended on local social media after videos of Rosé and Lisa reading out her sign mid-concert circulated as the girl group went to the Philippines for their “Born Pink” world tour over the weekend.

It was BLACKPINK’s third time in the country, which has a massive fanbase of Filipino “Blinks” or BLACKPINK fans.

Among these is Andrea, who went to the second day of the girl group’s concert where she took the opportunity to execute what was now known as one of the “hard to beat” promposals, according to singer Darren Espanto.

Videos of the incident went viral where Rosé read out a bright yellow banner featuring the words: “I just wanna ask Ricci Rivero, will you go to prom with Andrea?”

She also read another banner before, which read: “Please go to prom with our girl.”

Ricci, who was with the actress, agreed with a smile, while the rest of the BLACKPINK members gushed over the promposal on stage.

“Aww, that’s so cute! Congratulations!” Lisa said.

Andrea has been dating the basketball player since April 2022.

The “proposal” made some Pinoys giddy, with some commenting it was the “best” one they had seen so far.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we already have a winner for best promposal like, grabe ‘yung kay Andrea Brillantes,” a Twitter user wrote with a loudly crying emoji.

“Now that’s a ‘sana all’ moment,” another online user exclaimed with a similar emoji.

“Simple yet the most memorable. This [is] by far, the best promposal among the Star Magic artists. I mean… that’s THE BLACKPINK. Prayer reveal girl, @iamandrea_b,” the Twitter user added, tagging the actress.

“THIS IS EPIC!!! @starmagicphils and their scripted [proposals] from other artists cannot relate hahaha,” another Pinoy tweeted.

Others, meanwhile, were not too amused by Andrea’s initiative, perceiving it to be a move for her to be noticed during the supergroup’s concert.

“The design is very papampam,” a Facebook page said. “Papampam” is a Filipino slang for someone who is an attention seeker, usually in negative terms.

“T**na, bakit may nag-po-promote kay Ricci at Andrea Brillantes sa Born Pink concert ng Blackpink??? Ang papansin lang????” a Pinoy from Twitter commented.

Aan Gorostiza, the sister of Andrea, reportedly defended the actress from criticisms by explaining that the latter wanted her “first prom” to be “super special.”

“Let her be,” Aan allegedly wrote in an Instagram Story.

“‘Yun naman talaga point. Fan talaga ang kapatid ko, masama ba kung nag-try siya magpapansin sa mga idols niya? Aminin na natin, lahat tayo gusto nating mapansin ng BLACKPINK, ok???” she added.

“Umaga pa lang, nasa [Philippine] Arena na siya para pumila, just like everyone else. Nagpa-print siya ng 6 [six] na banners (both in Korean and in English) to do a promposal for her VERY FIRST PROM,” Aan reportedly said.

What’s with the promposal?

Andrea is among the talents who will attend ABS-CBN’s first-ever “Star Magical Prom” on March 30, along with other popular young love teams like Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano and “Dirty Linen” stars Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin.

The event is Star Magic’s way to introduce its new batch of top young and rising talents as the premier talent agency ushers a new generation of stars in the showbiz industry set to make their grand debut in style.

Expected attendees also include “Dirty Linen” cast members Xyriel Manabat, Sean Tristan, Raven Rigor, Rans Rifol, and CJ Navato; “Teen Clash” stars Jayda Avanzado, Aljon Mendoza, Kobie Brown, Andi Abaya, and Bianca de Vera; and “PBB” alumni Karina Bautista, Anji Salvacion, and Shanaia Gomez.

Rising stars AC Bonifacio, Gillian Vicencio, Louise Abuel, Daniela Stranner, and Angela Ken are also expected to attend.

Star Magic said that highlights of the night include the launch of a new Star Magic group, the “Sweet 16” and “Debutantes” portions, and the much-awaited coronation of the Prom King and Queen.

The event has since spawned unique “promposals” from the attendees.

Similar to a proposal, a “promposal” is when an individual asks someone out to be their prom date.

Star Magic talents’ gimmicks so far include helicopter rides, surprise flower bouquets, and a heartfelt “harana” performance, among others.
