Miss Universe 2020 semifinalist Rabiya Mateo echoed words associated with the campaign of a former 2022 presidential candidate when she attended the grand homecoming event of the University of the Philippines-College of Law.

The former beauty queen was one of the hosts of the homecoming held on November 26 at the UP Bahay ng Alumni, UP Diliman, Quezon City.

It was attended by former vice president Leni Robredo, fresh from the United States and Europe after a series of speaking engagements.

The Angat Buhay NGO chair was invited to the homecoming “to keynote the event.”

“Always a joy to be with the community. Congratulations to this year’s Golden and Silver Jubilarians — Batch ‘72 and Batch ’97,” Leni said on Facebook.

Her presence was very much welcomed by Rabiya, who said her heart was “full of joy” after seeing and listening to the former public official.

“I saw a lot of familiar faces last night but my heart is full of joy as I get to see and hear our former VP @lenirobredo,” Rabiya said on Instagram with a ribbon emoji.

The Ilongga beauty also shared a photo with Leni on her Facebook account and made it into her profile picture with the caption, “Husay at Tibay.” It was accompanied by emojis of a ribbon, sparkling heart and revolving hearts.

Rabiya’s picture has earned 14,000 likes and “love” reactions, as well as 3,900 shares as of this writing.

“Husay at tibay” is one of the campaign slogans used for Leni, who ran in the 2022 national elections as president.

Last year, Leni’s campaign manager, former senator Bam Aquino, shared a picture of her with the caption: “Tatak husay at tibay. Tatak Leni Robredo.”

The phrase was also used by supporters when Leni ran for vice presidency in the 2016 national elections.

A month before the May 2016 polls, Leni shared a quote card from one of her supporters, teacher Efren Peñaflorida, which contained similar words:

“Lakas at tibay anuman ang pinagdaanan / Ehemplo ng husay, tiyaga at katatagan / Nagbibigay inspirasyon sa buong bayan / Inaangat lahat maging ang nasa laylayan. / Kaya si L.E.N.I. ang aking VP.”
