Singer Janine Berdin and social media personality and dancer DJ Loonyo this week figured in a social media word war.

This began after Berdin posted a satire petition calling on the government to change the name of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to DJ Loonyo International Airport on July 12. The petition was created on Change.org.

The online plea was made after several some lawmakers proposed to change the name of the international airport where the late Senator Benigno Aquino Jr. was shot in 1983.

It has since been screenshot by online users and turned into a meme.

In a Facebook post, DJ Loonyo called out Berdin due to her post and asked her to be “sensitive” to his feelings.

He posted screenshots of his exchange with Berdin and captioned it with three thumbs down. The social media personality also tagged Berdin on Instagram story.

“Kung wala kayong magawa, pagtripan niyo sarili niyo wag ibang tao. Maging sensitive tayo minsan, di natin alam pinagdadaanan ng isa’t isa satin. Ini-expect ko yung mga matagal na or kahit papano nauna sa industriya ay kahit papano alam ang ‘RESPETO NA LANG SANA’,” he said.

He further said: PANGALAN MO SAYO YUNG AIRPORT, Baka ikaw yung may gusto hindi ako. Pero para katuwaan sigeeee, Go lang, kahit iba na yung napuntahan ng KATUWAAN.

Weird sh**!!

As of writing, DJ Loonyo’s  Facebook post has 47,000 reactions, 8000 comments, and 14,000 shares.

In response, Berdin reminded DJ Loonyo that being poked fun through satire is part of being a public figure.

Berdin said she does not mean any harm in reposting the online content she found “funny.”

“I just thought it was a petition to just literally change the airport name to you. It’s satire. It’s poking fun. It’s random. No one would take it seriously,” she said.

Berdin also changed her Facebook account’s cover photo with a picture of NAIA with her name on it on Wednesday.
