A pageant fan page reminded enthusiasts and supporters of Miss Universe Philippines to refrain from bashing and cyberbullying contender Kisses Delavin after she was accepted as the official Top 100 delegates for 2021.
Facebook page “Philippine Pageants” said that Filipinos can still support their bets without resorting to online bashing and “give her the benefit of the doubt.”
“It’s too early to tell that she’s not fit to compete, we haven’t seen her perform. We hope some fans will stop bullying Kisses and any other candidates who join their respective pageants. Let her supporters celebrate their Queen’s journey,” the page said on Tuesday.
“Spread love, not hate, and peace around the universe,” it added.
The post also featured the hashtags “#stopthebullying,” “#StopTheFanwar” and “#spreadloveandkindness.”
It was additionally accompanied by a graphic of some of the criticisms that the 22-year-old actress has been receiving from social media created by Kisses’ fans, “Siblings of Kisses.”
Earlier this week, Kisses trended on local social media when beauty training camp Aces & Queens shared a teaser of a contender “from Masbate who entered several beauty contests” before.
Fans speculated that the one-eye profile belonged to the actress.
A beauty queen mentor also used the word “miracle” when he shared the teaser.
Kisses was dubbed as the “Miracle Baby of Masbate” when she entered reality show “Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7” in 2016.
Prior to joining the show, she has entered beauty contests and won titles such as Miss Teen Campus, Miss Alma Mater, Miss Teen Masbate, Miss Masbate and Miss Kaogma.
Kisses shared that she likes joining beauty pageants ever since she was a child. She also said that she was open to the idea of joining a national pageant before.
