Actress Angel Locsin slammed a Twitter user anew for implying that she is a New People’s Army supporter after defending senatorial aspirant Neri Colmenares from being red-tagged.
The online exchange between the two has since been deleted but a parody account was able to take a screenshot of the conversation, where Twitter user @MarcosGlobalOFC condescendingly replied to the actress.

The gist of the conversation cannot be determined since the particular Twitter user’s account has been deleted already, although Locsin’s remaining replies were enough to merit praises from other users.
User @MarcosGlobalOFC asked, “NPA supporter ka rin ba?” after the actress said that she does not want to aggravate anybody.
Locsin answered that she is not an NPA supporter but pointed out that the user—whose username and profile picture reflects the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos—supports someone who tortured and killed Filipinos during Martial Law.
@MarcosGlobalOFC instead replied that NPA has been considered a terrorist organization by the United States and has supposedly killed lots of people.
“Kaya nagkaroon ng NPA dahil diyan sa profile picture mo. Siya ang may kagagawan ng lahat ng gulo,” the actress said in response, referring to the late dictator.
“At kasama ka sa mga dapat makonsensya dahil pinagkakakitaan mo ‘yang pagto-troll mo para sa mali. Binenta ang prinsipyo habang ang daming nagdudusa,” she continued.
It could be remembered that NPA was one of the strongest rebel forces who opposed the Marcos regime before. The group conducted small-scale raids and nationwide ambushes against state forces and officials of the dictatorship.
Red-tagging
Angel Locsin previously condemned the red-tagging of her nephew, senatorial aspirant Neri Colmenares, by some police officers in the midst of the 2019 midterm elections.

Footage of PNP authorities distributing their newsletter that accused Colmenares and other progressive groups of being communists and NPA members and supporters reached the actress.
“Bakit grabe yung effort para makasira? Wala bang maibato kay @ColmenaresPH kaya kinakalat na komunista o NPA siya?” Locsin tweeted before.
“Dahil ba gumagawa siya ng paraan para sa kapakanan ng ordinaryong tao at hindi sa ikabubuti ng mga mapagsamantalang tao?” she continued.
The actress called it a blatant move of “black propaganda” against the human rights lawyer.
PNP, for its part, initially denied its actions but later on stated that “it’s happening every day” and that they distribute tabloids to “places of convergence.”
The Omnibus Election Code and the Fair Election Act prohibits the distribution of any form of newspaper, gazette, magazine or printed material for or against a political candidate unless the name and address of the payor and the printer are stated on the copy.
