Filipinos congratulated Kapamilya actress Maymay Entrata after it was announced that she would be a model for the Arab Fashion Week, considered the main international fashion event in Dubai.
Dubai-based fashion designer Furne One shared the announcement in his Instagram account.
One is the man behind Amato Couture, a fashion label that exclusively caters to elite Arab clients and celebrities like Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Shakira, Nicole Scherzinger and Jessie J.
Entrata was previously invited by the fashion label to participate in a casting call a few days before it was announced that she would officially be part of the Arab Fashion Week.
She is the first Filipina to have been invited as a runway model in the most prestigious fashion event in Arab society. She would wear the creations of Amato Couture.
Her inclusion was met with messages of support and praise from fellow Filipinos.
"To become a professional model."

Maymay as a model
While the actress might have been known for her “Pinoy Big Brother” stint, she initially wanted to become a model since it has always been one of her interests.
In an interview last October, Entrata revealed that she joined modeling competitions when she was still in Davao and that Tyra Banks and Cara Delevingne are her idols.
She also shared that she only learned to walk like a model by watching YouTube videos:
At saka ‘yung look at attitude.”
Entrata’s efforts paid off as she was noticed by one of her idols when she walked in the Bench OJ Dailyware fashion show last August.
Tyra Banks herself ‘liked‘ the video that was posted by the Twitter account of Bench which showed the actress walking the runway.
Twitter’s her runway. And she’s totally killing it. @maymayentrata07 Heart ❤if you agree.#BENCHOJDailyware #BENCHEveryday pic.twitter.com/x61EFfCX8O

Entrata was also included in the “wishlist” contestants of “Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle Six” where its Facebook page announced that she has “what it takes to be Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 contender.”
Speculations arose that she might be part of the series but she later on denied the rumors, much to the disappointment of her fans.
Hindi po totoo yung ANTM 😊

Entrata was also invited by Rajo Laurel, one of the Philippines’ esteemed fashion designers, to walk on his charity gala on November 23.
My dream is for @maymayentrata07 to walk on show. Nov 23 is the date. I am creating a piece specially gif her. I pray this will happen. ❤️
