The Philippine peso hitting 61 against the U.S. dollar is “not the end of the world,” the central bank governor said on Tuesday.

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ Governor Felipe Medalla’s remarks during a banking forum followed comments made by the finance secretary that the government will not allow the peso to breach 60.
