MANILA— The Philippines’ Economic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan said he does not favor universal subsidies and removal of value-added taxes for certain commodities to combat inflation.
Speaking at a business forum, Balisacan reiterated the government was committed to addressing inflation, which is hovering at four-year highs.
